    הספר היכל שלמה הינו סיכום מקיף של החומר ותשובות לשאלות שנשאלו במבחני ההסמכה של הרבנות סגלת לישראל  (כולל סעיפים בהם לא נמצאה שאלה). בספר לוקטו כל השאלות שנים רבות. זכה להיות אבן יסוד בלימוד ההלכה בכוללים רבים מכל החוגים.

    הספר אמור ללוות את הלומד לאורך כל זמן לימודיו ולא רק לקראת המבחן. ניתן להשתמש בספר לסיכום החומר הנלמד, ולבחינה עצמית בכל סוף סימן - לבירור אם הגיע לרמת לימוד המאפשרת להיבחן. על מנת שלא להכביד על הלומד- אין בספרי היכל שלמה העמקה להמשיך למסור את ההלכה המותרת במבחנים. אכן בכל מקום שראוי להוסיף בירור, צויין לספרים אחרים שבהוצאת המחבר.
